Navigating Military Separation

Veterans bring essential skills in leadership, problem-solving, and innovation to the civilian workforce, but  balancing familial responsibilities, addressing mental health challenges, and lacking a support network prevents many veterans from pursuing STEM careers after military service

Removing Barriers to Education

Our program was developed to not only accommodate these barriers to civilian employment through informal learning, but to advance research in STEM education for veterans

Impacting Communities
Through Data Program

Veterans who join our ICTD program will participate in online learning workshops designed to teach essential data skills. Through guided service learning projects and skill workshops, participants gain experience and knowledge tailored to real-world STEM opportunities.

Expanding Career and Education Research for Women Veterans

By participating in the research study, you’ll contribute to research that helps advance informal STEM education and career development for women veterans. This research will explore how informal, online service learning can improve STEM skills and job outcomes for women veterans.

I have taken data related courses in the past, but that was three years ago. So I felt like this program was a great start to jumpstart back into learning a new field

I have not used my GI bill yet and so that was kind of one [goal] with me doing this program. It was kind of a test of what my capacity is for learning right now? What is my capacity in being in a structured program? And for me and I think probably for a lot of people who are going to be transitioning out of the military, this was a nice stepping stone back into the world of education.

The ICTD program was a new experience that made me feel more confident in my skills and abilities and seeing where I can expand my knowledge, that I can learn something new. I think it's just a really good confidence booster.
